Top Styling Tips For Your Maternity Session

Here are our styling tips on what to wear and what to avoid, Follow the tips below to create the most personal & beautiful photos for this very special time in your life.

1) A maxi dress Maxi dresses not only photograph beautifully, but they are also super comfortable. A long dress will give you lots of options to show off your bump and help create gorgeous movement in the photos.

2) A belt A great way to accentuate your bump is with a belt. You will want to place it right under your bosom, right where the top of your belly starts. A belt looks great with any shirt or dress whether it’s fitted or flowy. It will pull in any loose fabric and will create a waistline that will define your bump.

3) Accessorize!

You and your bump are the stars of these photos, and should take center stage. Prints and patterns can be overwhelming in photos. If you feel like solid colors are too boring, bring in some bold accessories. A necklace or scarf can add in some fun without being overly distracting.

4) Lace & Knit

Lace is a wonderful option that photographs stunning and very feminine. A knit is another great option to add texture to photos. Either way, textured clothing will create more interesting and beautiful photos. It is a great alternative to a print or a pattern.

5) Nails

Highly recommend that you do your nails! this is just because I will get some up close shots of your hands on bump.

6) The partner & Siblings

If you have booked a session involving your partner and/or your other child/children, then I recommend them styling & colour coding their outfits alongside yours, smart causal is good option for men, for children try to restrict heavy logos/patterns/characters on tops & jackets & shoes, a casual but smart outfit for children will be perfect.

Last but not least!

If you are unsure what to wear your welcome to have a costume change if you want to bring 2 different outfits along! we would be happy to work with you to spare a few minutes to customize!
